Empowering Inuit Youth through Sports, Mentoring, and Workshops

Overview

The Qalvik Project is an engaging and inclusive after-school program designed to enhance the social and emotional skills, confidence, discipline, and resilience of 100 Inuit youth (ages 6-18) residing in Cambridge Bay. This transformative program utilizes wrestling as a powerful medium to cultivate positive characteristics within Inuit youth, including resilience, mental fortitude, and overall well-being.

Since its inception in August 2020, the Qalvik Project has been successfully implemented at Kiilinik High School and Kullik Ilihakvik Elementary School, serving as a catalyst for personal growth and empowerment among participating students.
